Qualifications and Expertise

Catrin is a fully qualified counsellor (MBACP) with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative). Catrin is registered and accredited by the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

Catrin also has a BSc (hons) degree in Psychology from the Open University. She additionally holds an MPhil degree from the University of Cambridge.

Safe and ethical practice
Catrin is committed to maintaining best counselling practice through continuous professional development and regularly attending clinical supervision.

Continuous professional development has included further training in working with bereavement, loss, end of life care, and Somatic Trauma Therapy. Catrin adheres to the BACP’s Ethical Framework.

Counselling experience and specialism
Catrin draws on over 7 years of counselling experience which includes working in a hospice, within a bereavement counselling charity, and within a service providing counselling to carers and people who are bereaved.

This experience has also allowed Catrin to support clients through all life's issues including sexuality, stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, social isolation, and low self-confidence.

  • Being a mentor at an HIV charity, and within a charity supporting women from BME backgrounds
  • Catrin also draws on work experience in healthcare settings gained internationally at the Red Cross war memorial hospital (South Africa), and at Hospice Casa Sperantei (Romania)
