Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some frequently asked questions. You are also most welcome to contact me directly if you have any questions.
What happens in your initial appointment?
The initial appointment is a 50-minute assessment session. This gives you the opportunity to experience my therapeutic approach without any obligation to continue, and to ask any questions you may have. There will be an opportunity for you to reflect on what brings you to counselling and what you hope to gain from therapy. Towards the end of the initial appointment, we will reflect on how you have experienced the session and what it felt like for you. After this, if we decide to work together, we would then discuss and agree on how we would work together going forward. These arrangements would then be reviewed between us regularly.
If I think that a different counsellor or organisation with a different, approach,skill-set and expertise, may be better suited to support you and your needs presently, then this would be further reflected upon either during or after the initial appointment.
What is the duration of a counselling session? Counselling sessions are 50 minutes in duration. Counselling sessions usually take place at a set day, time and place each week.
What is the fee?
The fee for each session is £50 payable by cash at the end of each counselling session.
